Maria Baziakou

Maria is a filmmaker and a special education teacher. She graduated from the School of Film, Faculty of Fine Arts, AUTH, and the School of Primary Education, AUTH.
She has been teaching language and math in private and public schools since 1993 and she has been the Director of an elementary school from 2011 to 2015. She also offers professional coach services to business executives.
During her studies at the School of Film she was involved in many student films as a producer, director, and postproduction creative in both the image and sound.
At Panorama the Sound of Film, she works as a project manager, and she is responsible for digital communication. She is the producer of the podcasts “Mnimi Disc”, “Edgar Allan Poe’s sonic stories” and “This is a printing office: Druckmaschinen” which were selected and participated in the competition section of the 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and the 62nd Thessaloniki Film Festival.
She is interested in sonic narration also as a researcher and participated in the 4th International Conference on Alexandros Papadiamantis of the Society for Papadiamantic Studies with “From text to radio sound: identifications of sonic-inclusive words and sound descriptions in the work of Alexandros Papadiamantis for the creation of an alternative radiophonic narrative”.
