Theo Papadimitriou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1978. He is a graduate of the Music Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a master’s degree (MMus) in Music Performance – Conducting from the University of Hull, UK. He holds a diploma in Orchestra Conducting, a diploma in Cello and a degree in Piano, and degrees in Fugue, Counterpoint and in Harmony. He has attended Masterclasses in Orchestra Conducting with Dominique Rouits, Manuel Hernández-Silva και Michael Dittrich and has conducted concerts of symphonic music in Greece and in the UK.

He has composed music for films, documentaries, ads, and short films. Together with Christos Goussios and with the ensemble The Prefabricated Quartet they have co-signed original music for films and have also collaborated in accompanying silent films with their own original music. Theo has also composed music for numerous theatrical plays, for some of which he has performed live. He has also composed music for educational purposes for the youth orchestral ensembles he conducts.

He is the conductor of MOYSA, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki Concert Hall, an orchestra he has conducted in concerts, opera performances and recordings of film music. He is also the conductor of the orchestras of New Conservatory of Thessaloniki, and of the Choir of the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki. He has taught cello in the Music Schools of Thessaloniki, Serres and Katerini, and since October 2020 he teaches music in the Film Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

As a cellist he has participated in numerous concerts and performances. His discography includes the two albums of The Prefabricated Quartet -in which he has contributed both as a cellist and as a co-composer- and participations in recordings of many other ensembles, composers, and artists.
